Bringing Asian melanoma research into our clinical practice
intervista a Paolo Ascierto
What key biological mechanisms or unique drug targets validated by Chinese trials, must the Western oncology adopt for patients currently failing standard immunotherapy? Which specific methodological adjustments are necessary to fast-track the acceptance of robust Asian data into the European standard of care? We met Paolo Ascierto (Professore Ordinario di Oncologia – Università degli Studi Federico II, Direttore Struttura Complessa di Oncologia Medica Melanoma Immunoterapia Oncologica e Terapie Innovative presso l’Istituto Nazionale Tumori – Fondazione “Pascale”, di Napoli) at the ESMO 2025 Congress in Berlin and he talked also about resistance to immunotherapy and targeted therapies and about the advent of personalized neoantigen vaccines in high-risk melanoma.

intervista a Li Zhang
At ESMO 2025 Iza-bren (EGFR×HER3 Bispecific ADC) Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma BL-B01D1-303 research results had been presented during a crowded press conference. The BL-B01D1-303 (“303 Study”), led by Chinese investigators, evaluated iza-bren as later-line therapy for recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (R/M NPC). We asked the study’s Leading Principal Investigator Li Zhang (Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center), that we met during the congress in Berlin, to explain us the importance of these data.
